Roundhay School is a vibrant and successful community comprehensive school which reflects the truly cosmopolitan nature of Leeds. We became a specialist Technology College in 2003 and, following an excellent inspection, were then invited to become a Language College.

We believe that our motto, ‘Courtesy, Co-operation and Commitment’, underpins our academic success in a school where ‘Every child matters equally’, as Ofsted commented.  We are fortunate to have excellent rebuilt facilities and a thriving sixth form of over 330 students; we are also well supported by parents (of whom 99 percent would recommend us to other families) and an excellent staff.  All these help to make us the most popular school in Leeds.  We are far from complacent and never claim to get it right all of the time, despite what you might read! However, staff tirelessly seek to improve all that we do, in and out of the classroom. We expect no less of all our pupils, as we set everyone high standards to achieve.  We are delighted to be the lead school for Gifted and Talented pupils and to have had a very successful HMI Technology inspection in 2010.  That ‘pupils are proud of their school’ (Ofsted) is reflected by the highest attendance rate in the city.  If you wish to find out more, please contact us.

Head's Welcome

School Publications

Welcome back to everyone after the summer break! We are thrilled to have received so much good news to celebrate in August. We hope that you saw the coverage of Roundhay on the BBC1 national news or in the papers.

At GCSE 86% of pupils gained at least 5 A*- C with the majority including English and Mathematics. This is the sixth year we have broken 70% and 2010 was our best performance ever with a 10% cent rise in both key scores.

That followed an A level points score which was our highest for four years as around 40% of the students gained at least one A* or A grade. This has allowed many to progress to the next stage of their careers which is what really counts ( More details can be found on this website and in the first newsletter of the year).

Congratulations to everyone!
